A Loving Church seeking to Love Jesus

MHBC started as a bible study group meeting in a neighbors finished basement. They grew and from there set up a tent for Sunday meetings on land where McMicken Heights Elementary School now stands.

In 1949 those involved purchased land and began to build the basement foundation believing God for help to finish. They did get help from a group of affiliated churches called the Baptist General Conference (BGC). Some of the BGC churches raised money and came together to help build the main floor of the original church.

Neighbors use to be able to hear the singing on Wednesday evenings, and many came to be part of God's family.

The BGC recently was renamed Converge Worldwide, and the Columbia Baptist Conference is now known as ConvergeNW.
